Use of AI-Assisted Transcription and Clinical Documentation

Modern Psychiatry Center may use artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted transcription and documentation tools during patient visits to assist with the preparation of clinical notes. These tools may temporarily process information discussed during a visit to generate a transcript, summary, or draft clinical note for the treating provider.

AI-assisted documentation is used solely to support clinical care and documentation. Any AI-generated clinical documentation is reviewed and, as appropriate, edited by the treating provider before being incorporated into the medical record. The provider remains responsible for the accuracy and content of the final clinical note.

Information processed by these tools is handled in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements. Audio recordings, transcripts, and other information temporarily processed for AI-assisted documentation are deleted after each visit and are not retained by the practice as part of the medical record, except for the final clinical documentation incorporated into the patient’s chart.
